All Pray, All Power. No Prayer, No Power.

All Pray, All Power. No Prayer, No Power.

In Acts 1:9, we are promised power – the power of the Holy Spirit. But sometimes our desire for power can leave us with some wrong ideas about Jesus’ intention in giving His people power. The power of the Holy Spirit wasn’t intended to be merely a boost, a jump, a battery recharge, nor was the Spirit intended to be a means for power in the sense of wealth, prosperity, or prestige. No, the Holy Spirit was intended to give us to do even greater things than Jesus Himself, as scripture tells us. Power to do what? To witness and spread like wildfire the good news of Salvation to a world that desperately needs saving. Will you harness the full potential of the Holy Spirit today?

The Meaning of the Cross

The Meaning of the Cross

The Cross of Christ – the central symbol of the Christian faith. What is its significance to you? Is it merely a symbol that has lost its impact over time? Or is it something much deeper to you? In this message, Pastor Kristy Hodson challenges you to take a moment to view yourself from Jesus’ perspective, the one who purchased you with His own blood. Is the view you have of yourself holding you back from a closer relationship with your Savior? Is your own perceived uncleanness blocking you from the very Jesus who is reaching out His hand to you? Reach back to Him today, and let Him speak life into your soul.

How We Change

How We Change

“Not just my feet, but my hands and head too.” Peter’s response when Jesus told him “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with Me” is powerful. It shows the immediate need for all to be washed by Christ, cleansed from sin and made into a new creation. It is also a powerful reminder of the humility in character that marks the Christian believer. When you give control to God, you allow Him to wash all of you. Have you given God full control?

This Is Your Time

This Is Your Time

Jesus asked an interesting question to a man who was crippled for 38 years. His question: “Do you want to get well.” Almost seems like a silly question. Who in their right mind would want to remain sick? The same question is asked of us today, but it’s not so silly. Do we want to get well, free of the infirmity of sin? Jesus offers complete healing and transformation. Your time is now. How will you respond?

Thirsty Makers

Thirsty Makers

When describing the roll of the Christian, Jesus said “you are the salt of the earth.” Salt, not water, is how he referred to us. And what does salt do? It makes people thirsty. We are not called to quench thirst, but rather to make people thirsty so that Christ Himself can provide them with the water of life, the water that will make them thirst no more.
